New licensee: James Hardie achieves GECA certification
This week, we welcome building materials manufacturer James Hardie as GECA's newest licensee. The company has recently achieved certification for four products after successfully passing the audit process.
Spotlight: Commando Storage Systems
Commando Storage Systems has been operating for over 20 years and is a leading Australian manufacturing company, specialising in industrial, warehousing and office storage solutions. It's in our Spotlight this week with two GECA certified products, Ezi-Store Moduline Static Shelving Systems and Ezi-Glide Mobile Shelving Systems.
New licensee: Luxmy Furniture
GECA's newest licensee, Luxmy Furniture, is one of Australia's leading worktop and joinery furniture makers. Established in 1997, Luxmy manufactures a range of products for commercial needs, such as furniture for storage, tables, lounges, benches, chairs and stools. Its offerings include an impressive range of GECA-certified products which meet the Furniture, Fittings and Foam standard.
Spotlight: Joyce Foam
This week we're featuring GECA licensee Joyce Foam Products in our Spotlight. The company manufactures the largest range of polyurethane foam products in Australia, and has a large range which is GECA certified under the Furniture, Fittings and Foam standard.
New Products: Zenith Interiors
GECA licensee Zenith Interiors has achieved certification for three new products under the Furniture, Fittings and Foam (Level A) standard. The Beside Chair, Belite Chair and View partition range have all passed their audits with BSI.
Spotlight: Direct Ergonomics
Direct Ergonomics boasts an impressive list of GECA certified products and product ranges. The company has almost 30 GECA licensed products in their catalogue, ranging from lounges to workstations to the humble task chair. All are environmentally-preferable options certified under GECA's Furniture and Fittings standard.
New licensee: Entegro Group
GECA is pleased to welcome its newest licensee, Entegro Group, which specialises in moulded rubber and plastic products. Its Comcork flooring range has passed the audit process with BSI, achieving certification under GECA's Floor Coverings standard.
Spotlight: Dexion
Dexion is an Australian company that produces a range of specialist storage solutions for commercial and industrial applications. The company is also a GECA licensee, with products certified under the Furniture, Fittings and Foam standard, making them environmentally-preferable choices for any storage needs.
Spotlight: Croxley Stationery Ltd
Croxley Stationery owns or manages some of the world's most iconic stationery brands, and the New Zealand-based manufacturer, distributor and marketer is also a GECA licensee. The company has developed a range of environmentally-preferable stationery products which are GECA certified.
New award to recognise product innovation
Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is pleased to have worked with the Banksia Foundation to help create a new award category to recognise product sustainability as part of its awards for 2014.
Spotlight: Boral
Boral is one of Australia's leading suppliers of building and construction materials. The company specialises in the manufacture and distribution of plasterboard products, which are made in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, and distributed Australia-wide. It also exports internationally.

Access Office Industries have added a range of brand new items to their catalogue of GECA certified products, bringing their number of licensed products up to 16.
Spotlight: Regupol
Regupol (Australia) has been supplying sustainable flooring solutions in the region for over 25 years. The company produces flooring products recycled from rubber waste, such as old shredded tyres, cork or foam. These are processed and developed into a range of flooring materials, which are popular in gyms, office interiors, swimming pools, or as a layer of soundproofing under tiles or granite.
Providing confidence for environmentally and socially preferable textiles
Environmental, health and social issues associated with textile products, including clothing and soft furnishings, have been addressed through the release of a new textiles and leather standard by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA).
ecolour first GECA licensee under new Paints and Coatings standard
GECA are pleased to welcome our newest licensee, ecolour, manufacturer of premium quality paint. They are the first licensee to have their products certified under GECA's new Paints and Coatings standard, after passing their audit with DLCS International with flying colours.
GECA seeks change for GBCA recognition of paints
GECA has requested that the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) consider modifying its credits and calculators to recognise third-party certified paints, adhesives and sealants whether they are applied onsite or offsite.

A new, revised standard for Adhesives, Fillers and Sealants from Good Environmental Choice Australia is now out for public comment. The new standard has updated criteria and now recognises joint sealants and fillers, with a stronger focus on industrial and commercial adhesives.
