Wastefree (Aust) Pty Ltd was founded in 2011 out of a desire to implement an enhanced and more sustainable service offering to the waste industry. It has operated under a private ownership model since its inception, specialising in servicing the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area.

In December 2020, Wastefree become part of Waste Services Group (WSG) providing solid waste collections services for commercial and industrial customers via a fleet of front lift, rear lift and hook lift trucks across metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne. The group also provides waste brokering and managed services for larger customers with multi-site / multi-state business who require more complex waste collection and disposal solutions.
