GECA Ready is designed for organisations that have completed all the requirements within their control and are ready to meet the remaining site-specific requirements when an opportunity arises.
It means you’ve done the work. Your systems, processes and organisational requirements have been assessed. Now, you’re ready to work with a client to complete the final requirements and progress to full GECA certification.

What does it mean to be GECA Ready?
GECA Ready is available for selected service-based GECA lifecycle ecolabel standards where some certification requirements depend on information or actions associated with a client, site or project.
To become GECA Ready, your organisation must demonstrate that it meets all applicable requirements within its control.
The only requirements left outstanding are those that cannot be completed until you have an active client, site or project.
That makes GECA Ready more than an expression of intent. It demonstrates that your organisation has already done the work it can do and is ready to take the final steps towards GECA certification when the opportunity arises.
WHY GECA READY?
You shouldn’t have to wait until you win a contract to demonstrate that your organisation is prepared to deliver a service in line with a GECA standard.
GECA Ready allows you to show prospective clients that you have already addressed the requirements within your control and are prepared to work with them to complete the remaining site-specific requirements.
This can be particularly valuable when tendering for new work. Rather than simply saying that you intend to pursue certification if successful, you can demonstrate that your organisation has already completed the applicable GECA Ready process.
For clients and procurement teams, it provides greater confidence that a prospective service provider understands what will be required and is prepared to progress towards delivering a GECA certified service.
How GECA ready works

Meet the requirements within your control
Your organisation works through the relevant GECA standard and demonstrates that it meets all applicable requirements that can be assessed without an active client, site or project.

Become GECA Ready
Once these requirements have been successfully assessed, your organisation can achieve GECA Ready status and use the GECA Ready logo in accordance with GECA’s brand use guidelines.

Take GECA Ready to market
You can use your GECA Ready status to demonstrate to prospective clients that your organisation has completed the requirements within its control and is ready to work with them towards a GECA certified service.

Add the client, site or project
Your nominated Assurance Provider will conduct a conformance assessment, which includes an on-site audit. They will then provide a detailed verification report. All proprietary product and service information is treated as strictly confidential.

Certification
Once all applicable requirements of the standard have been met, you can progress from GECA Ready to full GECA certification.
How long does GECA Ready last?
GECA Ready status is valid for three years.
During this period, your organisation can use its GECA Ready status in accordance with GECA’s requirements and can progress to full certification when an eligible client, site or project is in place.
What does it cost?
Once you become GECA certified the annual license fee will change accordingly. The independent Assurance Providers have their own additional fees, please contact them directly to learn more.
