Annelise recently joined GECA’s Standards & Technical team as an intern, where she is excited to support the development and revision of science-based sustainability standards. With a strong interest in connecting science, business and policy, she enjoys contributing to work that helps organisations and consumers make informed choices that are better for people and planet.

Half-British and half-Dutch, Annelise is currently completing a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Her academic background centres on sustainable process engineering and the conversion of biomass into valuable products, and she is particularly interested in how clear, credible standards can help translate technical knowledge into real-world impact.

Known as a collaborative and enthusiastic team member, Annelise enjoys working on goal-oriented projects and supporting others to achieve shared outcomes. She brings strong communication and organisational skills, along with a love of learning and teaching, and hopes to contribute fresh perspectives and positive energy to GECA’s work over the coming months.
