Australia’s Premier Built-Environment Event Returns: Tickets Now on Sale for the 2025 Sustainability Summit
Tickets to Architecture & Design’s highly anticipated Sustainability Summit are on sale now. Set for 19 November 2025 at The Fullerton Hotel, Sydney, and also available via livestream, the Sustainability Summit is a CPD-accredited program designed to inspire, challenge and advance sustainable thinking across the built environment.
A Summit to Shape the Future of Sustainable Design
The 2025 Sustainability Summit will feature ten expert-led panels spanning critical themes such as AI in sustainable design, circular construction, regenerative architecture, housing affordability, modern construction methods, electrification, climate risk and embodied carbon strategies.
Two keynote addresses will anchor the day:
“Does inequality drive worse outcomes in sustainability, or does sustainability exacerbate inequality?” featuring Rob Stokes (former Minister for Housing NSW), exploring the intersection of social equity and environmental outcomes.
“Lessons of resilience – climatic, social, and cultural learnings from Country and First Nations,” delivered by Ka Wai Yeung (co-founder of TZG), reflecting on Indigenous knowledge and community-led approaches to resilient design.
These keynotes, and the Summit as a whole, intend to frame sustainability not just as a technological or ecological challenge, but as a deeply social one.
Hybrid Format, Greater Impact
The 2025 Summit leverages a hybrid format to reach a broader audience. Attendees may choose to participate in person at the Fullerton Hotel in Martin Place, or virtually via livestream. All ticket holders will have on-demand access to recorded sessions for 30 days post event, allowing full flexibility and continued professional learning.
For architects and built-environment professionals, both in-person and online participants can earn up to 10 formal CPD points, one per session attended.
GECA Presenting on Circularity and Wellbeing
GECA's CEO, Josh Begbie, will join the panel - Is a circular built environment possible, and if so, how? This panel explores the feasibility and future of a circular built environment, challenging the prevailing linear model of construction and demolition. Josh will join Jonathan Mountfort (Autex Acoustics), Katherine Featherstone (GBCA), Dr Peter Tonkin (Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects), Jo Taranto, and Emily Gentilini (ARUP). Hear about the practical, economic, and cultural shifts required to enable circular practices at scale as the panel highlights innovative case studies where these principles are already being applied.
Our Head of Standards & Compliance, Mark Barthel, will also be presenting as part of the latest trends in designing for health & wellbeing panel. This panel will explore emerging trends in designing spaces that support physical, mental, and emotional health, from biophilic design and circadian lighting to acoustics, air quality, and inclusive environments. Mark will join Tara Veldman (Billard Leece Partnership), Tamara White (Warren and Mahoney), Aimee Munro (Gray Puksand), Angela Biddle (FK), Jason Gibney (JGDW), and Tim Simopoulos (IWBI). Together, they'll discuss the evolving metrics of health-centred design and how architects and developers are embedding wellbeing into the core of their practice.
