After over 4 years in the role, GECA would like to announce that CEO Kate Harris is moving on to new pastures – literally!

“On behalf of the Board and whole GECA team, I would like to thank Kate for her passion and determination to promote sustainable production and consumption, and for our mission at GECA,” said Board Chair Patrick Walker.

“Kate has built a wonderful team and has expanded our range of offerings to help make it easier for buyers to make sustainable choices. She has also been an influencer and passionate advocate for sustainability during her time with us.”

Kate is moving to Canberra to focus on family and spend more time at her 17-acre farm in the Yass Valley.

“I am very proud of what I have achieved at GECA. We are delivering critical and relevant sustainable supply chain solutions across multiple sectors and for diverse stakeholders. We continue to go from strength to strength and have a strong reputation within the industry of the built environment and beyond.”

“We have moved beyond ‘environmental’ issues alone and are now able to verify manufacturers claims concerning the circular economy, modern slavery, carbon and much more.”

“I want to thank the team and the GECA Board of Directors for all their support during my period as CEO and wish the team and my successor the very best as they take the organisation forward. I also wish to thank our licensees – true leaders in manufacturing and all our key stakeholders for their ongoing support of GECA and what we are trying to achieve.”

General Manager Michelle Thomas is now Acting CEO while a recruitment process is taking place for a replacement who can build on the achievements of Kate and the GECA team in recent years.

We wish Kate all the very best and look forward to watching GECA thrive and continue to lead and serve a critical role within the Australian market.
