The Sebel story began in 1951 with the production of Mobo toys and a new furniture range based around the innovative Stak-a-Bye chair. In the late 1960s the decision was made to drop the toy side of the business and concentrate entirely on the furniture range which had taken the market by storm.
Sebel went on to introduce many innovations, from being the first to replace wooden chairs at schools with Polypropylene, to classic ergonomic designs which many decades later are still as popular as ever. Since then, and still behind each Sebel product today, is a genuine manufacturing culture which is focused on making products that have the latest ergonomics (Form), work at a practical level (Function) and are built to last (Quality).
